I was reading the Vertigo comic DMZ (demilitarised zone) recently which has as its basis the idea that New Jersey has seceded from the USA and a civil war is being fought out, with Manhattan as a no-man's land. It has some really nice art, and I liked the idea of combining cityscapes with hardware, so thought I'd do a related picture. This photo I used was actually taken from the top of the Empire State building, but I switched it to looking out of a helicopter instead.
The style is more like a comic that is usual for me, much more black and white and little or no texturing. Because the viewpoint is so elevated it didn't actually give me the chance to put in the incidental details that I wanted, so I may have to do another ground-level one. I would like to colour it too. See what happens.
